Indeed. Some things seems to appear right in that moment you are pointed to them - like the tick tack from a clock. You don't hear it for hours; then somebody mentions it, and it suddenly seems to be really loud. :D
And yes, it's in the GoW theme as well.
Thank you Tweek

Is there any way I can help delete them myself? I visit the forums just about every day and I'd be more than happy to delete them if I see them :)
I am good at Texture Design & Photoshop as well as Age Concept Design. PM me for a texture request. Credit is highly appreciated, but NOT required to use my textures ;) KI#46415

Wow! I have not visited the Forums in a while but this is quite frightening, and very frustrating stuff. I find myself asking the same stupid question that I used to ask about those that make viruses, WHY? But I guess that is a question with no answer either. But, it was great to see you guys so hard at beating the problem. I would be very sad if these people eventually caused the GoW to close or to limit the input from members like me to the Forums. I am not a programmer so I apologise that I have no helpful input but you all seem to know what you are doing and I just wanted to say "Thanks, we all appreciate your efforts". Best Wishes.

Me still do not understand why the administrators do not/or will not use a similar tool as they do at the Guild of Messengers site :?:

The problem with a Myst or Uru themed captcha is that not everyone on this board has played Myst or Uru. Some people may have played Myst, but not any of the sequels; some may have played Uru, but not any of the other games. The issue is finding a captcha that won't exclude people, but that will still prevent spammers.

Seeing as the purpose of this board is almost entirely to support discussion on the modding of Uru, I think it would be reasonable to assume that anyone joining has at least played Uru, if not finished it.

The specific Yeesha question was a suggestion, not a requirement. On OpenURU.org, the question currently is "What equals one plus one?" Not only can a non-fan get it, but even a computer scientist and your most average students will get it too. It's also easy enough for numerous non-English-speaking folks to understand. It has been 100% effective. That said, Nanouk-GoW's question is valid, but I know Adam does not like the solution. It's his party, so I assume he's okay with handling the gate crashers on his own terms.

The example given is quite correct. Frankly, if someone can't answer that, he's registering on the wrong forum.
I'm sure we could come up with a good list of such Uru-related questions.

The problem with general questions such as the one used at openuru.org is that it won't filter out humans who are registering bots, a scheme that is in wide use. I guess openuru is just flying under radar for now.

When I installed the MOD, I was getting around 10 registrations per day and accelerating. The MOD chopped it to zero for a long time. Since then (April this year), there have been about three human bogus registrations. Even then, they don't get past the requirement of self-elevation to the open members usergroup which allows one to post. (The default usergroup is restricted from all but replies - there has never been a spam post). I changed the question from the one before ("What color is the sky?") and have not gotten a single spam registration. Once learned by the sweat shops, easily changed. The wiki has gotten more spam registrations, but that's under control now too, thanks to Mac_Fife's help.

My above "Captcha" image was only one of the many possibilities used by the GoMe. :D
